Hello, my name is Jason and this is how NW Carpentry LLC has came to be…

I was fortunate to have grown up in the Willamette Valley of western Oregon. My family had a small construction business that my father ran as a ‘side business’ to a whole other career. Every weekend and in the summers through school I was working with dad learning the ropes. By 1996 I started my own business doing more custom carpentry and general contraction residential remodels. We did everything from multi-housing, kitchens, baths, custom designed decks and that led me eventually into commercial finish work by the early 2000’s.

I had many amazing mentors over the years—I’m forever grateful for their patience and grace as they coached me over the years into being a better-and-better finish carpenter.

Finish carpentry led me into the design and fabrication of custom furniture and cabinetry. For a short season, I worked at a high production commercial cabinet shop. Even with my own experience, I learned quickly that I had a lot to learn.

Since 2014 I have been working for a large speciality contractor that specialises in contracting commercial finish projects. As a Superintendent for them, I have again learned even more about carpentry as a whole, how to solve problem and how to keep on learning and growing.

Growing, for me, is how and why I started NW Carpentry LLC. This all started with my father and his side business, and now I am ready to creatively approach my own side projects diving deeper into woodworking. While I love the commercial contracting world and the challenges it brings, I do love quiet, therapeutic days in my own shop building a custom design piece for someone like yourself.
